Deep Work

Define your focus. Start the clock.

Deepnous — a minimalist deep work timer

Deepnous is a free, distraction-free focus timer built for deep work. Name what you're working on, set any duration, and start the clock. No account, no ads, no clutter — just you and the work.

A focus timer made for deep work

The interface is full-screen and dark by default, so nothing competes for your attention. Press the spacebar to start or pause, and Deepnous keeps accurate time even in a background tab — the countdown runs in a web worker against an absolute end time, so it never drifts when your browser throttles inactive tabs. When the session ends, you get a gentle chime and a browser notification.

Use it as a Pomodoro timer

Set 25 minutes for a classic Pomodoro work interval, or choose a longer block — 45, 50, or 90 minutes — for sustained deep-work sessions. The duration is fully editable: tap the time, type the hours, minutes, and seconds you want, and go.

Frequently asked questions

Is Deepnous free?

Yes. Deepnous is completely free, with no account and no ads.

Does the timer keep running when I switch tabs?

Yes. Deepnous tracks absolute time and runs the countdown in a web worker, so it stays accurate even when the tab is in the background and the browser throttles ordinary timers.

Can I use Deepnous as a Pomodoro timer?

Yes. Set a 25-minute interval for a classic Pomodoro session, or any custom duration for longer deep-work blocks.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Deepnous runs in any modern browser. You can optionally add it to your home screen for one-tap access.
